Wining and Dining in the Loire Valley

From Michelin starred restaruants to local cafes....

This is the Restaurant Le Rendez-vous Des Gourmets in Bracieux- a Michelin Star restaurant. We happened to be there on Fathers Day (we didn't know France has such a thing) and there was only the special five-course menu available. I've never had frog legs before.... Near the Chateau Chambord. Chef/owners Didier and Severine Doreau are personable and quite talented.

Ezia Restaurant in Montlivault. A Michelin Guide one-star restaurant near Chateau Chambord in the Loire Valley.
On Saturdays, a table selects one of three menus - we went for the seven-course Terres d'Union. Excellent, if not overwhelming.

La Botte d'Asperges Restaurant, Contres. The name means "bunch of asparagus" - this Michelin one-star restaurant in the small town of Contres, was a find. Talk about a hands-on chef - he prepared dessert to order tableside.

Chez Bruno Restaurant in Amboise. Based on the recommendation of a friend, we ate at Chez Bruno, literally in the shadow of the Château Royal d'Amboise.
It was elevated comfort food, and well worth the hassle of parking in a crowded downtown.

We love Vouvray wines - had to visit
