The Tropic of Cancer is the circle of latitude on the earth that marks the most northerly position at which the sun appears to be directly overhead at its zenith. This event occurs once per year, at the time of the June solstice, when the northern hemisphere is tilted toward the sun to its maximum extent. Although it varies year to year as the earth's orbit is not perfect, it is within meters of 23° 26' north of the equator.  On Mexico Route 1 on the Baja Peninsula, there is a new visitor center marking the line of the Tropic of Cancer. On one side, you are in the tropics, on the other, you are not.

This could be our new favorite Cabo restaurant - Asi y Asado, which is Guadalajaran slang for "like this and grilled." Excellent - it was featured on the Food Channel's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives - for good reason. The heart picture is an inside joke.... One of their specialites below
